Call for Papers 3rd Rostock Conference on Service Research September 13th and 14th, 2012
Research in individual services and service industries have gained significant value in national as well as international contexts. However, a great deal of research remains unfinished, as concepts and theories developed for the analysis of (manufacturing) industrials activities do not apply to the service sector, which is characterized by immaterial commodities. Not least, this is indicated by the continuing discussion on the Service Dominant Logic.
To address this need, the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Rostock has dedicated a great proportion of its research towards ‘Service Management and Service Markets’. In order to further the scientific exchange on these topics, the Department of Business Administration at the University of Rostock hosts a conference in Rostock, covering recent developments in service research.
We would like to invite all interested parties to participate in the third Rostock Conference on Service Research, presenting their research results. Formats will include oral (30 min. plus 15 min. discussion) and poster presentations. Contributions from all areas of business administration and all disciplines researching in the field of services are welcome. Studies may either address functional aspects of service management, such as work design or management control rsp. management reporting in service industries; or take an institutional perspective on services, focusing on specifics of particular services and service providers.
Submission Procedure: Please submit your contribution as Extended Abstract (500 words max.), either in English or German before
